Message from Bob Barrie, USS NOA Reunion Association President<\/h1>\n

ATTENTION ON DECK – ALL SHIPMATES, FAMILIES and FRIENDS!<\/strong> <\/em><\/p>\n

The USS NOA Board of Officers have voted to cancel the 2023 Reunion in Pensacola, Florida. One attraction was seeing the Blue Angels practice – their schedule has not been posted yet. The prohibited cost for the tours and bus rentals would be overwhelming for our shipmates and families.<\/p>\n

On a positive note – the 2024 USS NOA Reunion will be held in Fall River, Massachusetts at Battleship Cove. We are now working on dates in April 2024 and information will be following.<\/p>\n

Thank you for your understanding and continued support for our reunions.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

USS NOA BASIC INFO<\/h1>\n

USS Noa<\/b><\/em> may refer to:<\/p>\n

USS Noa<\/em> (DD-343)<\/strong> – was a Clemson-class destroyer in the United States Navy following World War I. She was named for Loveman Noa (see DD-343 Wikipedia article here<\/a>).<\/p>\n

USS Noa <\/em>(DD-841) <\/strong>– was a Gearing-class destroyer of the United States Navy, the second Navy ship named for Midshipman Loveman Noa (1878\u20131901).  Noa was laid down by the Bath Iron Works, Bath, Maine, on 26 March 1945; launched on 30 July 1945, sponsored by Mrs. James Cary Jones, Jr., wife of Rear Admiral James Cary Jones, Jr., USN; and commissioned on 2 November 1945, Commander R.
